Gemini

I'm a Gemini, fighting the stereotype that I LOVE to talk about myself (not fair judging me from this blog as this is a one way communication, ok?). But this description suits Mr A so well. Ladies and gentlemen do not fall for someone who love to talk about themselves they forget to ask how you feel :)

Vietnam Plan 2013

I believe in "things will fall into their place" so coincidences are meant to be. You just don't know yet.

One day when I was hanging out with couchsurfers, my attention was drawn to the plan of two of them to go to Halong Bay. Little that I knew where that was. This is what I love about hanging out with them, you got to know new things, new places and new people. Vietnam, that's where Halong Bay is. I said to them I was interested in joining in.

So we tried to book the tickets on the spot through Airasia website, we planned to go via KL to Hanoi. The tickets were $90 return, that's the promotion ticket. Good news, I got that price. Bad news, the others didn't. Worse, later on they changed their mind about going.

I was kinda worried about have to go alone. But along with time and happenings, I become eager to start my solo trip. It is a bit risky to start with abroad trip to a country where not most of the locals speak English. But I am sure there are lots of couchsurfers and backpackers to support me :)

So right now I am super excited to prepare myself. This is my own adventure #1! Still need to get round tickets Balikpapan to KL tho, I am waiting for Airasia to lower down the price *crossing my fingers* or anyone wants to donate? Haha

Oh additional bad news, June, the picked date by my friends, is the monsoon season (what are the chances), a bad time to have a boat cruise to Halong Bay. Of course I didn't know this, right?!!

Anyway, that shouldn't stop me. There are alternatives and there is raincoat. Alternatively I will go to Sa Pa as my friend recommends, 8 hours away from Hanoi by train.

I'm excited about everything! Wish me luck! June is still months, I know :P

Asperger and Lying

Just the other day I put "I love you Asperger people!" status on Skype which led to a this convo:

Him: why do you love them?
Me: because they can't lie (as far as I know, yes they lack of the ability to lie)
Him: but there are people who don't lie too.
Me: however with those people you can't tell whether they lie or not.
Him: true, it means you don't trust people?
Me: I don't.
Him: lucky you, how could you do that?
Me: getting hurt makes you lose trust.
Him: well I was hurt, but when they say sorry I forgive them.
Me: not hurt enough.

Wow I sound so cold lol but that's the truth. Anyway I just googled some about Aspie (cute nickname eh) and lying, so Aspie are generally honest, but can learn to lie. Lying somehow becomes human tool of survival? Sad.

In reverse of Aspie learning to lie, since I experienced the horrible event of someone lying to me, I decided to have honest policy. I'm learning to not lie. It's not easy, esp. to parents haha.

May only honest people survive :)

Scary Teeth

Last Friday, Eddie and I went for a walk to the city park and beach after work as I felt like soaking the sun. We were walking along the beach with a plastic bag to pick up some plastic garbage when I looked down and found these scary thing. Teeth of unknown creature!

Just Leave!

Something to be considered, ladies and gentlemen... (although greed is such a big part of human kind, shame on you!)

At The End of 2012

Writing becomes a reminder for me, since I tend to forget details or things I intend to forget but somehow far in the future it would be okay to be reminded...

This year has been interesting and yet hurtful, I have met wonderful people and I-thought-was-wonderful people. Although I don't want to address it this way, this year has been a time wasting on men :P

Nevertheless, many lessons learnt. One thing to be grateful about!

Looking at the trips I had this year and my post about my vision of 2012, I have to mfffftttt at both. Gone to Bali twice, with one GREAT disappointment (note to self: go travel with your friends or solo, only), had to go home early with a broken heart wasn't in my plan, but c'est la vie. It introduced me to human characters, someone else's and also mine. I like mine more now, in non narcissistic way. I umm just umm gained patience.

During the healing time, I bumped into a book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green which helped and excited me a lot (regardless the cancer struggler topic, I wasn't wishing to die) since it got me thinking. One of my favorite quotes by John Green:
"This world is not a wish-granting factory"
So I keep my wishes to myself, to be shred at the office shredder (oh I hate the noise), if only I could shred memories like papers. Conclusion is 2012 would be a year I'd skip from reminiscence.

Come faster 2013, I have many plans and hopes for you!

The Man (English version of Lelaki)

I try my best to give translation of my writing, with my limited English....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wonder what brought me to stand in front of the window, inkling? I do not know. But there stood a man framed complete with the perfect symbol of virility [at least it gives that effect to some people, not including me, about ...] cigarette between the fingers of his left hand while his right hand resting on the concrete fence where he sat. After a long inhale, he let his left hand resting along with his cigarette on the concrete fence, where the right hand rested.

Although he sat with his back facing me,  I could see the dreamy expression of his face on his back, as well as I know my own hand. When once again he smoked the cigarette I saw his head looked up following the smoke, from where I stood the smoke seemed like coming out of his looking up head, slowly the smoke flew up and disappeared. That very moment he looked like a kid in awe of how wonderful the smoke was. Reminded me of my childhood when I've eagerly watched my father smoked, saying "Do it again Dad, get the smoke out through your nose" was amazed to see that is inhaled through the mouth coming out from the nose and then disappear without a trace. If only the kid me did not see nearly all adult males smoked I would definitely proudly considered my father a magician.

He was now flicking his cigarette and the ash was falling on my green grass that by the man regarded as the cigarette ashtray of the universe. Oh God ... he was one of the human, those who think the earth is trash bin of the universe. Those who think the river has a magic that can eliminate the waste they throw into it. Tragically sad!

Then my positive thoughts said, "That's OK, it's just ASH, he didn't throw plastic that makes the earth short of breath, Las!" Maybe he's not one of them and I went back staring at his back although it does not give me any answer, up until the man suddenly shot me to the air feeling proud like crazy.

Patiently he waited the small embers at the end of the rest of his cigarette extinguished by itself, out of the medium to shrink and die, then the man put the butt into the front pocket of his black trousers without getting up. He sat on the concrete fence until the sun began to dim its power, the nature offered a reassuring violet ray soothed all weary souls after this long day.

I was ready to see him standing, like the director who knew exactly what he wanted the characters to do. Then there it was, he quickly stood up and turned around, which meant he was then facing me with  fifty yards that separated us and I could see clearly then the expression I have seen through his back ...... eyes that smiled at me at that second.

I see it again the kid, now in his eyes, as if he chuckled as he told funny stories. The man with boyish eyes stood in front of  of my door, I couldn't help to notice the rhythm of his heavy breath behind the unopened door. I waited for awhile before opening it slowly and then, jumped on me at once the wind that blew blend of perfume that I bought him as a birthday gift and the smell of cigarette that always makes me nag cos it sticks on his shirt. But today I just want to love that boyish-eyed man especially when he said, "Honey, I'm home".

What Are The Chances?

What are the chances that you meet someone? Someone who appreciates some hours of talk and catching up with you? Sitting down somewhere or just a chat through internet, when the other person is just so eager to be part of your day as if he/she was there with you, laughing at the world or even crying with you.

What are the chances bumping into a stranger who totally understands you? Someone you blubber away to, and in the end of the day you can just simply walk away impressed and yet knowing you will never see them again, having the same sense.

What are the chances you fall in love with the picture of being a parent, feeling the passion flowing in your vein, makes you happy down to your toes?

What are the chances you're engaged to skygazing for so long you feel inhuman-like?

What are the chances?

The Ending of 2011

Generally speaking, 2011 is good and sprinkled with chances to meet many good people. Celebrated this year birthday with my beloved friends, had great trip to awesome places in Indonesia and come closer to my awesome friends. I cannot be more grateful, can I?

Oct 2011, the arranged-in-short-notice trip made it! Citra, Loon, Eddie and I went to Belitung, had such a wacky time and spent only $70 while we were in the island for FOUR days. Afterwards, Citra and I went to Bali where we met some couchsurfer fellows. (there will be pictures post on the trip)

Dec 2011, sad (and happy too!) thing is I have to (not literally, unfortunatelly) wave goodbye to my friend Loon as she goes to Melbourne for school. This is also a statement that I fail to follow her path getting ADS scholarship, on my first try. "Don't give up!" she says, she's got the scholarship after the 3rd try, so I still got a chance! However it feels like NEXT YEAR is the most appropriate time to go back to school for me, and why?
1. Of course reunion with Loon in Melbourne.
2. I'm getting sick of secretary work, and its getting unhealthy as I sit long hours in front of PC
3. This brain is about to get numb, UPGRADE UPGRADE UPGRADE!
4. Social work is what I want to do (was planning to take Women Studies or Social Work).

The above list is in random order, just saying :P

December also means the due date of someone's Phd, and means he will come to see me soon! So lets enter 2012 with many wishes and plans. I'm planning for some Asia trips in 2012, perhaps Thai and Vietname. We'll see...

The Refugees! :P

Next destination, next day... a waterfall which I don't the know the name :D

a proud tree hugger :D

This is it! The waterfall haha, was disappointing.

So we went to seek for another waterfall, which took a very very verrrryyyy long walk on not-so-good track, to no avail! No waterfall for us :(

Last stop, the deer conservation. But I can't find the pictures of them now lol bad bad narcissistic people.

I photograph this one :D

I run out of pictures from this time around adventure with Maliq, Erry and Echa. Please look forward for the next trip to Belitong and Bali in October :)

Marriage by Khalil Gibran

Then Almitra spoke again and said, 'And what of Marriage, master?'

And he answered saying:

You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.

You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.

Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.

But let there be spaces in your togetherness,

And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another but make not a bond of love:

Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.

Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.

Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,

Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.

For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.

And stand together, yet not too near together:

For the pillars of the temple stand apart,

And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

Khalil Gibran

Years ago I stopped to read this poem which was framed and hanging on the bathroom wall of a family my friends stayed with. The 21 years old me was attracted by the title. The now me, is trying to look for a soul to live it up! :D

New Eye

Lately I've been depending so much on my friends' cameras when it comes to immortalizing the moment we share. Just yesterday I looked for my pocket camera and saw that it's aging, the LCD turns black on the corners. It's time for a new one!

Been wanting a DSLR camera, but it is just too expensive, I most def can use the money to travel around and (if I can't drag one of the girls with me) have to take pictures through my cellphones or iPod. Now now, in my imagination about having DSLR I was thinking about a mixed baby of DSLR and polaroid :D

Always like polaroid and dreaming of having one, it somehow reminds me of my childhood when we visited the museum and had our pictures taken by this guy with polaroid camera. Seeing him flapping the result to dry looked so cool! Anyway, now all I can do is using photoshop to make my picture looks like this hehe...

statuses

I suppose I'm kinda back in writing, at least these short sentences that I use as my Facebook status, like them!

  • I think I'm being in the wrong shoes, standing on the wrong angle, wrong coordinate, under the wrong sky or cloud or something. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I just want to fix this... getting this right but somehow I feel alienated.
  • Maybe someday in the future, in another life, love will be folded in much simpler way... painted with singular interpretation, sang in one key... but it would be less beautiful.

I guess my feelings show here, sometimes I wish there were easier ways to show them or to let him know my stories cos just like Brandi Carlile sings "these stories don't mean anything when you've got no one to tell them to".
